25. Lyn Stacie Getz Playground – Bel Air, MD

Hey, parents! You've got to check out the Lyn Stacie Getz Playground in Bel Air, MD - it's seriously cool. First of all, there are six different slides of varying heights, a bunch of climbing toys, a carousel, a treehouse, chimes, and new swings (including a tire swing - who doesn't love those?).

But wait, there's more - the interactive panels are amazing! Learning sign language has never been easier with the letter and word formations, there's even a Tic-Tac-Toe game and some basic English-to-Spanish words and phrases to brush up on.

But let's get safety conscious, people. The whole play area is covered in a nice, thick rubber surface that's light green and smooth for the most part. However, in spots where kids need to be extra careful (like under the swings), the surface is dark green. And in other spots where caution is important (like around the swings), the surface is light brown.

We know you parents like to take a breather now and then, so all the benches have been replaced and you can relax while the kiddos are burning off their energy. Plus, the park is specifically designed to be accessible for kids with differing abilities - it's all about making sure everyone can have a great time.

Lastly, the park is named after Lyn Stacie Getz, who was clearly a pretty amazing person. Her parents donated over $50,000 to build the park in her memory, and a bunch of volunteers from the community came together to build it in just five days. Plus, it was funded by the Harford County Government and the Emmorton Creative Playground Committee. So basically, everybody had a hand in making this a perfect place for kids to play.
